Sonja Bernhardt is arguably the highest profile woman in the Queensland Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry and her peers recognise her as an action oriented result achieving role model who consistently delivers benefits through her innovation and pioneering achievement and collaborative contribution to the development of the technology industries.

She is known for her obvious enthusiasm, visionary leadership, intelligent rational thinking and business acumen. She is the business owner and CEO of ThoughtWare Australia Pty Ltd. a Gold Coast based software and services company, as well as director of About Achievement and Intellcorp.

In addition to successfully running ThoughtWare Sonja is the founder of WIT – Women in Technology in Queensland, a member of Senator Coonan's ICT Summit Advisory Group, a member of Minister McGrady's ICT Industry Development Advisory Group. President of eWomen as well as the founding chair of AWISE – Australian Women in IT and Science Entity. Sonja continues to take on an impressive list of ICT industry board/committee and voluntary roles where she has inspired many by the contributions to diverse industry and community groups she has made.

Sonja is passionate about her industry and since 1997 has consistently encouraged others to either take up a career in technology or adopt technology in their daily use through a multitude of career, role model, mentoring and board readiness programs that Sonja has been primarily responsible for designing and managing.

Sonja holds three management and information technology related degrees including an MBA, and is currently preparing to undertake her PhD.

Sonja bases her life and all activities on a reality and reason based philosophy.
